Outing to Derry     June 2003

Superb weather ensured a most enjoyable day for 55 CIMS members on a visit to Derry.

Our two coaches stopped for a coffee break in Coleraine, before going on to Christ Church, Londonderry, for our service of Holy Communion. The rector, Archdeacon Donald McLean, then told us about the restoration of the church after the malicious fire.

Lunch was provided by the Mother's Union of St Columb’s cathedral. At the Guildhall where we were welcomed by the Mayor, Cllr Shaun Gallagher, and by MEP John Hume.
As it had turned out to be a beautiful day, the cruise down the River Foyle proved to be most enjoyable.
Before returning to Belfast we had a meal in the new Tower Hotel near to the Diamond.
